Convict Lake, California October 2007. Unmistakingly the Sierras. A very beautiful location and a great view of the mountains. This was taken in the night, with an exposure of about 6 to 8 seconds I believe. I had to lay the camera down on a table and I'm lucky it worked out as well as it did.
Same place. The colours came out really nice, lots of brown tints, the colour of Autumn.
This time from our campground. Not a bad view.
Highway 50, near Austin Nevada. This is about the middle of Nevada, along Highway 50. A rather remote and lonely highway. The stretch of highway in the distance is about 35 miles long crossing the valley. At most in the dark you would see 3 or 4 pairs of headlights, mostly nothing. Giving an indication how "busy" it was. This was also our view from the campground. A very nice view, I really liked that campground. The town Austin is very interesting also. An old mining town, the mines are mostly deserted with some nice old buildings and cute (gem) stores. It's worth a visit in its own right.
Not so much of artistic value as it is funny. As a Dutch person legalising certain things makes sense to me. This one was boarded up though. We're facing south, and to the east of this starting some miles away from the road there is a huge military area, not that you notice anything different. I guess the nuclear radiation might still be slightly elevated...
