Pictures of the Don Edwards refuge, Santa Clara, CA

These were taken on a nice long hike along the salt marshes, in April 2008. The refuge is very nice, quiet and rather big. A perfect way to get some peace and quiet in an otherwsie rather busy Silicon Valley.

Sign Signs are always a nice subject, the weathered wood looks nice as well.

Drawbridge This is part of Drawbridge, a ghost town now exposed to the tides.

Drawbridge Drawbridge, the hills were still green in April...

Wheel One of quite a number of structures used to control the water level in the salt marshes.

Wheel Again a nice subject (or should I say easy?)

Mosaic A very pretty mosaic of the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse, close to the visitor centre.

Mosaic I took these upside down for an added effect.
